All about the famous Khareef season of Salalah, Oman.

Oman is known for its Dhofar mountains ranges that starts from Dhofar Governorate in Oman to Hadhramaut Governorate in Yemen, and are located between the Hajar in the northern part of Oman, and the Sarawat in the western part of Yemen with the highest peak at Jabal Samhan 2100m(6900ft), which is 1 hour and 28 minutes drive from Salalah . Salalah has clear blue waters, golden sand beaches, and sandy deserts and runs with its mountain ranges.

The Khareef season is the most anticipated part of the year in Salalah which falls in the month of July and lasts till the end of August.

Khareef, in Arabic means "autumn," refers to the season in which Dhofar, Oman, experiences a predominantly tropical climate.

The season starts from mid-June to the end of August.

Rainfall occurs frequently and is occasionally accompanied by patches of white fog, which calms the weather and blankets Salalah and Dhofar in breathtakingly beautiful lush greenery. Khareef is the time of year when visitors from all over the world come to Salalah to take part in its natural beauty.

To commemorate the exceptional regional season in Oman, the Ministry of Tourism holds the "Khareef Festival," also known as the "Salalah Tourist Festival." Individual traditional performances, mouthwatering Omani cuisines, and exquisite handicrafts are all showcased.
